I have three picky males living at home, and all three were reluctant to try this combo - which is why I chose the skewers. I let the finished skewers "marinate" for about 15 minutes while the rest of the meal was finished. Since the recipe only called for 12 skewers, I got immediate requests for more and wanted me to fix it again! Next time I'll double the recipe.

Yeeeeah. Wish I had read the reviews before making this yesterday for a dinner party. I think you could hear me cursing down the block trying to get the $#@! Feta on the skewers. Sigh. That said, the ones that managed to hold together were quite a big hit. It is certainly refreshing to have something other than cheese or meatballs or (shudder layered bean dip to offer guests on a balmy summer night! I would definately make this again but not without trying to solve the Feta dilemma in privacy beforehand. Oh, I also would have loved to add the cuke...that is an excellent idea.

After reading all the comments about the feta cheese I will probably use some chevre that I already have. I think I will try cucumber as someone suggested. I agree that any raw onion can be too overpowering. I think this will be an easy and quick appetizer. I love Giada...she kind of nudges me in the right direction!

After reading the other reviews that the feta cheese was hard to put on the skewer, I was a little scared to try this recipe. However, I cut the cheese into pieces then put them in the freezer for 30 mins to get them super firm but not solid. Then I was super careful when putting them on the skewer and that worked great. None of them crumbled! The vinegrette was perfect. I also added cucumber when I skewered them and that added an extra nice flavor. Good easy recipe if you put the feta in the freezer!

I've taken these to two parties and they were a hit each time. I did make it with mozzarella the second time as it is easier to work with, but I prefer the feta. Another hit from Giada!!

I was thrilled to serve this at a cocktail party. Based on the instructions I assumed it would take a few minutes to prep. I bought a great block of feta cheese and it crumbled with each attempt. I'm sorely disappointed in this recipe.

Made this for a BBQ and everyone loved it. Presentation on a rectangular platter was amazing. I had two kinds of feta cheeses, one was a bit crumbly, but the other was more compact. The latter one was better to skewer. Will certainly make this again. Thanks.

I haven't made this yet, but I can tell you that red onions can be overwheling when served raw. I soak my onions in ice water for 10 minutes before using them in any recipe that calls for raw onion. Try it and you'll be amazed at the difference.

This is so easy. It is okay nothing too special. When Giada made them in the epsidoe she use big chunks of red onion, but when she served her guests you coudn't see any onion on the skewers. I used a slice of yellow bell pepper instead, the color was nice and a little bit of bite.
