This recipe is even better when you add a 1/2 cup of toasted almonds.

I really enjoyed this basic recipe. I read through the reviews and realized most of you were not doing the number 1 rule of cooking "Taste Your Food!" I wanted to add nuts to my pesto so I did also I added lemon juice as well. I don't know how people are getting bitter arugula but its suppose to be spicy, peppery. Mine was almost to strong so I added more nuts, and therefore added more pasta water. If you taste your sauce before it goes on the pasta you can fix to how you like it.

This is an excellent easy recipe. It taste as good as the picture looks. I love it so much I have made it twice with a week with home grown arugala. I added a tablespoon of basil pesto to it which gave it a great flavor and cut down on the sharpness of the arugala. I give this recipe five stars. *****

I made it pretty much to a 'T'. It was okay, but I would add a couple more cloves of garlic and a handful of pine nuts to the pesto. Also, make sure that you use enough pasta water to thin the pesto to the right consistency. After reading a few of the other reviews I am wondering if they had done this step or if they used fresh aruluga. I will make this again but with these changes. The lemon at the end really helped with the bitter taste too, may double the amount of zest at the end.

I was very excited about the recipe and wanted to try it after the great reviews but boy was I wrong about this one. What I think made me not like it was the Arugla - it gave the dish a bitter taste. There are way too many muscles - I would cut them in half also try to substitute spinach for the arugula. If you did not substitute I think the dish would be too bland. I don't think I will cook this one again.

We love most of Giada's recipes, this looked great but we were not a fan of the arugula pesto and we love arugula. Will not be making again, there are to many really, really great recipes that I have made from Giada that we love.

This is great and so easy. Be sure to add lemon zest and parsley for the added flavor. I also added 2 cloves of garlic and thought it was the perfect amount.

I am a big fan of pesto and have made it with lots of kinds of greens.....but never with arugula. Since a couple of folks mentioned bitterness, I tasted mine before making this, and it was delicious - not a bit bitter. I used 2 large cloves of garlic and about 2 T. toasted walnuts and dumped everything into the processor, including the cheese, after the arugula was chopped up. Worked just fine and made less mess. I put this pesto into a bowl and zested a small lemon directly into the bowl. I couldn't afford jumbo shrimp, so I got smaller ones. I sauteed them in a frying pan and mixed them with the pesto in the bowl. Then, I added the pasta (multi-grain to the bowl and tossed it, and it was just delicious. I didn't really need the cooking liquid but used a little just in case. Easy and with lots and lots of good flavor. Truly yum!
