I am a big fan of pesto and have made it with lots of kinds of greens.....but never with arugula. Since a couple of folks mentioned bitterness, I tasted mine before making this, and it was delicious - not a bit bitter. I used 2 large cloves of garlic and about 2 T. toasted walnuts and dumped everything into the processor, including the cheese, after the arugula was chopped up. Worked just fine and made less mess. I put this pesto into a bowl and zested a small lemon directly into the bowl. I couldn't afford jumbo shrimp, so I got smaller ones. I sauteed them in a frying pan and mixed them with the pesto in the bowl. Then, I added the pasta (multi-grain to the bowl and tossed it, and it was just delicious. I didn't really need the cooking liquid but used a little just in case. Easy and with lots and lots of good flavor. Truly yum!

This recipe was a little bland but I believe once you work with these ingredients a little more and perfect the dish to your own "taste" it really is good. Please ignore these people who say your accent annoys them....they have probably never been to Italy and would never understand that culture. I go to Italy every year if I am able and enjoy most when you speak Italian during your show. Also, tell your fellow chefs to say your name correctly (not Gee-ada ! Thanks, love your show.

The pesto sauce was way too plain.
i've added chicken instead of shrimp.
And i added lemon juice, salt, pepper, cilantro & onions.

follow instructions but add a lot more of everything. be creative add your own stuff in it too. ALSO you can add leftover meat. it'll taste better.

    MUCH BETTER!!

This dish was "just o.k." -- I expected more flavor from the arugula and really from the shrimp as well. It is nice and easy, though, so if we try it again, I'll add some seasoning to the shrimp and maybe some herbs to the pesto.

loved the combination of flavors--next time will add more lemon zest and will sprinkle the cheese on top after tossing with the spaghetti--my pesto sauce clumped a bit when the cheese melted into the very hot pasta

I found this dish a bit bland - maybe I needed to add extra garlic or salt. Just a warning: I misread the instructions and added the pasta cooking water all at once and it made for clumpy pesto!

this dish lacked any real defined taste. Perhaps some type of balsamic vinegar or something. We ate it but not one of our favorites.
