The sauce is really nice, but chop the veg in small dice to ensure even cooking; I left out the bay altogether as personal preference, and used a large can of tomato puree and a small can of tomato sauce instead of the crushed tomatoes. For the pasta, I used whole wheat penne, Kalamata olives and cayenne instead of the red pepper flakes. Delicious and perfect for weekday family dinners.

Made this last night and can't wait until a sufficient amount of time has passed until I can make it again! Delicious flavors with just the right spice. Next time I'll just use 2/3 lb. of spaghetti, but I wouldn't change anything else. Thanks, Giada!

Just made the sauce for dinner, and I wasn't all that impressed. I had to add more seasoning as it was a little bland. I found the sauce to be a little chunky even after I put it in the food processor and did it for a long time. Not sure if I would make this again.

Would give it 5 stars but you need to double the ingredients except for the spaghetti (or half the spaghetti other wise it is wonderful.

My family absolutely loved this "meatless" spaghetti sauce. I did not add the celery and carrots because my family is not fond of those ingredients. The only thing I will do differently is reserve some the sauce prior to adding the olives and red pepper flakes for my preteen son. Otherwise, the rest of my family loved the "kick"! I will most definitely will add this to one of my family's favorite dishes!
