I am planning to take these to a family reunion, but I am a little worried about how they will travel. Do the nuts need to be kept frozen or refrigerated if going to be made way ahead of time?
Also, I don't know what people are complaining about. I love Giada, and her new show is my absolute favorite to watch on the food network...It is an absolute treat seeing her beautiful home, darling baby and husband, and all the fabulous dishes she prepares! Props to her for working hard and being successful- what an inspiration!

These were great! Very different from other spiced nuts recipes I have because of the warm and almost moroccan-y spices. You can make them ahead of time, which is the best part if you're serving them for a party. My husband, my girlfriends and I all really liked them and I'll make them again!

I made them for a party. I'm not sure I'll serve them. The spices didn't seem to work together in a way my husband and I liked. I did just make 1/2 the recipe and I would suggest you do this as a trial run.

The recipe said it makes 4-6 servings. I served these with cocktails before dinner and if we had eaten 25% of the recipe we would have been too full! I didn't even use the amount of nuts called for because it was starting to look like a huge amount in the bowl.

Maybe if you are just serving them as a munchie with cocktails the portion guidelines would be more in line . Glad to hear from another reviewer that they can be frozen - I can't bear the thought of throwing them out! I liked them but flavors may have been a bit strong for my other dinner guests.

I love nuts. So I wanted to try this out before I made this for a party. I thought maybe I can make it ahead of time and freeze whatever I had leftover. Well, I had nothing left to freeze. We snacked on the nuts and I also sprinkled them on my salad as a topping...it was so delicious. It added a nice flavor to my salad. I agree with another viewer that it has a lot of curry and I'm not a curry fan but I do like it in this recipe. I think you can cut back though. Otherwise, enjoy!

I cut down the amount of spices and nuts for a party yesterday. I didn't have ground cardammon, so i skipped that. And, it still turned out super tasty! Thanks Giada, i love this dish, so were my friends.
I prepared it a few hours before the party, and it became a bit soft and chewy hours later. So i heated it up in oven for a few min, and cooled it. Guess what, it's crispy again and just as tasty!
I also added peanuts (cheaper in addition to cashew and almonds.

I've made this recipe three times now. The first time I followed the recipe exactly as written, however I think the curry was over powering. The second and third time I only used one tablespoon of curry instead of two and bumped up the cumin and cayenne. Everyone loved it, wanted the recipe and it was a huge hit. This will be a staple served with other appetizers from now on. The house did smell like curry/cumin for a couple of days, but what's wrong with that!

The spice mixture is delicious - the flavors emerge at different times. Happily, I had everything I needed in my cupboard. Took this to a friend's house as a gift, and then sent some to work, and everyone asked for the recipe. Easy and full of flavor. And I like the new show.

The nuts were great, but I have to agree with some of the posters below. And I DO change the channel more often now away from Giada's new show. I used to love Everyday Italian because the shows were real. It was all about the cooking and the recipes. Now it is more about glamor and fame which doesn't impress me much. I agree that Giada should just be her (old self.
