Delish! However, did anyone else notice that the written recipe calls for 1/4 water but the ingredients list does not? I missed adding the water because of this but they still came out very moist and tasty.

I loved the brownies. Would change the icing the next time that I make them.
I like a buttercream icing that incorporates 10x sugar in it. But the brownies were great!!

I had never tasted spicy brownies, and I tell you these are the best brownies I've ever eaten. The spiciness was not a bad thing, since I though it would taste funny, but they didn't. My kids just fell in love with them, the frosting was just perfect. I definitely will make this again. I said it before and I will keep saying it, that Giada is one of my favorite chefs, I just love her dishes. What I also did was add some nuts, and It was awesome.

These brownies are excellent but I highly recommend putting them in the fridge once they are frosted. This may sound crazy but if you are not sold on the brownies when you first make them, put them in the fridge and let them get cold. I was not sure if I liked the brownies at first when I baked them because I felt the frosting was a bit too much. I thought to myself that I love when I make my own brownies and put them in the fridge for best flavor so why not do so here. Sure enough I did so and now my husband asks when they are cold enough to eat as it is the only way he will eat the brownies. You think the brownies are going to be spicy but they have a warm taste to them. A nice change.

Yummy- I used about 1/4 tsp of cayenne and it had just enough heat to the brownies. Also used Ghiardelli dark chocolate brownie mix and bittersweet chocolate chips since that's all I had in my kitchen that day. Had to add some powdered sugar to sweeten up the frosting, but overall it all was great tasting, but not for your average brownie lover!

oh my gosh... These are the best brownies ever. Super moist with a wonderful warm kick at the end. The buttercream frosting is truly the best.

Don't let the cayenne pepper (or the other reviewers scare you away from this recipe! The pepper isn't overpowering, just some slight heat at the end. Even my 2-year-old ate these!

Okay.. I'm from the south around New Orleans and spicy food is a major part of my diet even in mac and cheese, but this was just bad... My fiancee wanted me to make him brownies and I ended up throwing them out before he got home so... no brownies. However the buttercream was really yummy after I added about a Tbs of sugar and a tsp of Hershey's chocolate syrup.

These brownies were a big hit at the Super Bowl party I took them to. However, I will probably use a little less cayenne the next time I make them - just a little too spicy for most peoples' taste buds. The buttercream frosting is luscious and amazing on top.
