Don't let the cayenne pepper (or the other reviewers scare you away from this recipe! The pepper isn't overpowering, just some slight heat at the end. Even my 2-year-old ate these!

Okay.. I'm from the south around New Orleans and spicy food is a major part of my diet even in mac and cheese, but this was just bad... My fiancee wanted me to make him brownies and I ended up throwing them out before he got home so... no brownies. However the buttercream was really yummy after I added about a Tbs of sugar and a tsp of Hershey's chocolate syrup.

These brownies were a big hit at the Super Bowl party I took them to. However, I will probably use a little less cayenne the next time I make them - just a little too spicy for most peoples' taste buds. The buttercream frosting is luscious and amazing on top.

Made these today, and me and my husband enjoyed them. We both like Cayenne so we didn't mind the 'kick' afterwards, but it was too spicy for our 4 yr. old twins, they kept coughing when they tasted the Cayenne. Cinnamon and Cayenne good match together but definatley more for adult taste buds. Will make again but expect folks that don't like spicey food to not enjoy.

The cinnamon and cayenne pepper in the Brownie mixture made a perfect marriage! The Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting is the best I have ever tasted!

Wow....this recipe is out of this world. I love cinnamon and the little added spice is just right. I can't eat a plain old chocolate brownie again. Thanks Giada and Food Network.

These brownies are delicious!! I used a tripple chocolate Ghirardelli brownie mix which is by itself very good. I left out the cayenne pepper because I didn't want to spoiil the whole recipe if I didn't like the spicy kick.

cab227 must have confused the cayenne and cinnamon portions (fyi the smaller portion was the cayenne. This has got to be one of the best freaking brownies in the world. We used a Ghirardelli mix and Ghirardelli chocolate chips for the buttercream. We served this to over a half-a-dozen people and you should have seen everyones eyes pop out. The only caveat is be careful to follow the recipe and do not over-bake the brownie.

I signed up for an account just to rate these brownies. This is my second Giada recipe and I didn't think it could possibly be worse than the first, but I was WRONG!!!!!!
These are terrible!! I am so upset that I wasted a brownie mix on this. The cayenne and cinnamon are completely wrong in this. I will caveat this by saying that I love everything spicy and cinnamon-y normally, but this is absolutely horrible. Please heed my advice and don't waste a perfectly good brownie mix and 2 hours of your time.

I really liked these brownies but I think next time I will add some chopped, toasted hazelnuts on top.
