Amazing! I added the herbs while cooking, instead of after & also thickened up the gravy with flour & water to accompany twice baked mashed potates. My husband flipped for this meal, it's a keeper!

This recipe is a new staple for me! I had no problems with what was written, but added a few things. I'm not sure you can have a roasted meat without bay, so I added 2 leaves. Also, blended in 2 TBSP of flour right before reducing the cooking juices, a slight suggestion to a gravy. I am a southern girl, after all!

Oh wow, oh wow. This dish was amazing. I can't believe how soft and tender the meat turned out. It was like heaven. The mushroom, wine and herb sauce is so flavorful. My mother loved it, too.

In fact, the next day she came back with a grocery bag filled with the same cut of beef I used so I could make the same thing again. She must have been daydreaming about it that day. I've made this about three times so far and it's the best recipe for pot roast I've come across yet.

Oh, the only thing I would change is that I would come up with an easier name to remember this dish. My mother and I both kept having trouble recalling the title of this dish. Stracotta with Porcini!

This was tasty. I didn't have porcini mushrooms and had a hard time finding them in our local grocery stores so I used small portabella mushrooms. The family said they loved it!

We buy a side of beef every year, and this is our favorite way to enjoy the chuck roasts.

This pot roast was fantastic. It was so easy to make and the gravy was to die for. Just wish I had purchased a larger roast for leftovers.

I tried this around the holidays. It's a keeper. My daughters love it. The neighbor's kids love it. I add more mushroom than the recipe calls for and I will use whatever mushroom is available. This Pot Roast is a hit. I do it at least once a month and for left overs, I do sandwiches. YUMMY!
