I have been making this same recipe using bananas for over 20 years, using the butter, banana slices, sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon and the oven broiler! I used pistolettes (small french breads cut in half for the bread when I don't have regular french bread. Strawberries are also yummy!

This almost tasted like toast with strawberry jam on it. It was good but I think I expected something different.

These are so easy to make and they taste like a nice sweet strawberry shortcake. I love these for breakfast quick, easy, and delicious.

This recipe isn't just yummy, it's earth-shatteringly sublime. I just made it for the second night in a row, and am seriously considering running back to the store tomorrow for more bread and strawberries. I made this for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day, and she now thinks I'm a culinary goddess.

Made these tonight but for some reason I couldn't get the sugar to carmelize using my husbands propane torch. The sugar just ended up very liquid. What am I doing wrong? I kept trying but the strawberries were starting to burn a bit on the edges. Have tried Giada's other recipes with much success but guess I need some pointers for this technique.

It was so quick and neat to make. The kids gobbled it up as soon as it came out of the oven. In fact, they were trying to negotiate for more. This has become a family success when considering we all have such different tastes.
