I cut back on the eggs after reading other people's comments, and it seemed to work well. I used only 5 eggs instead of 8. I also added slightly more sugar, but I still found it too bland. Therefore, when I served it, I just sprinkled some sugar right on top, and then it tasted great! It tastes much better room temperature/cold than hot, so after baking it, wait a bit before serving.

I can understand why some people might not like this recipe. The texture is not like cake or bread, which I'm thinking people might expect. This dessert is, however, quite delicious! Its not too sweet or heavy and with ice cream on top, it really hits the spot. I sprinkled granulated sugar over the top of mine while it was in the oven and it caramelized to create a beautiful look as well as sweeter taste. If you are big on textures I wouldn't recommend this recipe. But if you are willing to try something new I think you will be as pleasantly surprised as I am.

I don' think anything could fix this, my husband who will eat anything, threw this out, If you can't fix anything good and new, go back to something tried and true.

This was the worst dessert I ever made. It was an exspensive dissappointment. It was tastless - like wet pieces of cardboard. I'm glad I didn't try it on dinner guests. Giada, you are too much into yourself than your recipes.

I almost didn't try this recipe after reading the negative reviews. Boy, am I glad I did! It was wonderful!! I did add an extra 1/4 cup sugar, and more strawberries then the recipe called for. Great texture and delicious flavor. I am sure I will make this again and again. It is a keeper!

I didn't really enjoy this and I made it for 8 other people, they did not enjoy this either. It has to many eggs, and not enough flavor.

Unfortunately this dessert wasn't a hit at Sunday dinner. It was bland even when using sweetened strawberries and the texture was a cross between soggy French toast and scrambled eggs. I decided not to even serve it to my guests. Maybe I'll try some of the other suggestions because the dessert looked great on show.

I was very disappointed with this recipe, not to mention the ingredients which were wasted. This is the first thing I have not been happy with that Giada has made. It needed to be sweeter. I made it for the family, and no one liked it. We ended-up throwing it out.
