I should've taken all the negative reviews more seriously. They were right.Although I took the advice of other posters, and did double the cream cheese and ricotta and honey and berries, but it still just was so bland! It cooked through fine at 350 covered for an hour. Then removed the foil and bumped up the heat to 400 for 5 minutes. But it just really lacked flavor. I whipped up some cream anglaise flavored with Grand Marnier to at least be able to serve it, but we threw out 3/4 of the pan. (and there were 8 of us eating it!. I really don't recommend it.

Next time I will read the reviews!
It was not at all what I expected. It really has no taste! The texture was good, but the taste was just bread.
I think adding vanilla, more honey and adding some powder sugar on top would do the trick.
This is the first time I try one of her recepies, I have to admit it was dissapointed. I might try it again if I have left over bread at some point.

I saw this episode and printed the recipe when it aired but made it yesterday, after reading all the reviews and comments on the changes that needed to be made. I doubled certain things etc...I had a lot of eggs left over from Easter that were going to go bad so I bought the rest of the stuff I needed. The first attempt turned out terrible though it looked great out of the oven. I tried it again, a few hours later, using two small pans and the result was the same. Too "eggy", not set very well and the whole strawberries had no flavor and were bitter. I like Giada and most of her stuff this was crap.

I really enjoyed this recipe and it kept well for the next few days in thr fridge. I too added more honey and berries and sprinkled some sugar on top and it made it extra good.

The first time I made it I was slightly disappointed (2 stars. Clearly the ingredients were meager. The second time I added more strawberries and some sliced peaches. I also used half&half instead of milk and twice the cream cheese and ricotta. A tad more honey also. Came out great (4 stars. Not for those on a diet though.

I didn't have any problem with overdone edges or watery but I made half a recipe and baked it in a smaller pan. I added more strawberries, a tad more honey, and vanilla. I was imagining a strawberry cheesecake flavored bread pudding but couldn't even tell that the cheese was there. The idea is good though, not sure I'm ready to give up on it. I think one thing it really needs is salt for all those eggs and milk... then maybe even more berries and a bit sweeter.

The desert is very easy to make, but not as tasty as I expected it to be. You are up to lots of calories, my vote is for another alternative.

I loved this recipe. I enjoyed it not being too sweet. It was a great finish to my stuffed shells. My husband and I had the leftovers for breakfast. It is great as is, or could be sweetened by a sprinkle of sugar. I think it would be really great with a little maple syrup as breakfast. I used a 11 x 7 x 1.5 pan and it turned out fluffly and not at all too wet.

I should learn to read the reviews before trying new things. This is basically a bread pudding with some strawberries.
I, too, had the same experience. Watery in the middle and not much flavor. I made a vanilla sauce and then it was great.

this looked delicious on tv. i followed the recipe exactly (with the exception of probably 3x the strawberries and it turned out bland, very wet in the middle of the pan, and overdone on the perimeter. 2 stars because it wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't good. i will not try this again.
