This smoothie is so delicious!! It is very sweet, but I personally loved the flavor combination. Such an interesting way to use fresh basil! I will definitely make this again, and will serve it to a crowd of friends and family poolside! :

Absolutely delicious. I wasn't sure that I would like the basil but it is really good. Drinking it right now. Yum...heaven in a cup. Thanks Giada:

I really wanted to love this smoothie, but I ended up throwing most of it away. It's such a creative way to use herbs, too. I only put in half the sugar after reading how sweet it is and it was still way too sweet for me (and I love sugar. I really didn't like it but maybe I'll try it again another time and either put in even less sugar.

omg, YUM!! I've been trying to find ways to incorporate yogurt into my diet - I hate it, but I know how healthy it is - in comes delicious basil smoothie! The basil and lemon are offset beautifully by the subtle tang of the yogurt to make an ultra smooth, ultra lovely flavor. It is perhaps a little sweet, but there's all sorts of other uses for the lemon syrup if you don't want to use it all. Delicious!

This was awesome! So refreshing, cool, clean, herb flavor. It's inspired me to add basil leaves to all the smoothies I make now. It was a bit sweet but I love her recipes that take ingredients and use them in unfamiliar ways.

Way too sweet, but I can tell it will be very refreshing with less sugar so I will definitely make it again. Wish I'd paid attention to the other reviews! I will use less than half, probably start with 1/2 cup, of the simple syrup next time and just let people add it in if someone wants it sweeter.

I would not change anything about the recipe. It was sweet and finishes with a very clean, refreshing taste. If green had a taste, it would be this smoothie. I made it for the fam and with the exception of my father, everyone loved it-- even my two year old nephew! He guzzled it!
