After reading the other reviews, I added an egg and chilled my gnocchi dough before rolling it out. However, I still had trouble forming the gnocchi, so I added flour onto the gnocchi themselves and ended up making gnocchi dumplings. My gnocchi looked nothing like gnocchi. Instead, mine looked like dumplings, but they still tasted great.

I bought already prepared gnocchi and they were delicious.

I would consider myself a good cook, but this recipe was a complete flop for me. It was alot harder to execute than it seemed. Perhaps, I just need more experience with this type of cooking.

You will not have a successful dish if you follow this recipe. Had to improvise so that we could enjoy. Practice with the ingredients for success.

This recipe was way too sticky to roll out. I had to add a bunch of flour. Because of this it ended up being a flavorless starchy mess. I ended up not serving it and throwing it in the garbage. This was a complete waste of time and ingredients.

...be sure to not overcook the gnocchi. I found the boiling time to be too long, and my first batch came out mushy. For the next batches, I boiled them only until they floated to the top (as you do with other gnocchi recipes, and they were perfect. The sage brown butter was delicious, and the flavor of the gnocchi was sweet but subtle. Yummy!

I was a little intimidated to cook something so "difficult" as Gnoicchi, but it was not difficult at all. And oh my gosh, it was SO Delicious! I Love it and it will be a part of my Thanksgiving Table from now on.

I wanted to serve with Thanksgiving dinner and knew it would be a bit time consuming so I made the best of it and asked my 7-year old daughter to help roll the gnocchi. Not only was the gnocchi easy to make, it was out of this world (sauce is to die for and hopefully I've created a Thanksgiving memory with my daughter that she will remember and share with her children. All 24 guests were asking for more - and the recipe too!

I've made gnocchi from scratch before and it is sooooooooo worth the time, effort, and calories! This recipe, on the other hand, was borderline disgusting. Sorry Giada. I normally LOVE your culinary creations.

I read the huge discrepancy in reviews before making this recipe and shrugged off the poor reviews since several people were happy with their results. After a disaster on Christmas Eve, a total waste of lots of time as well as money, I went back and re-read the reviews and found a very common thread. Something is NOT right with this recipe in the flour department. The resultant glob was too sticky to even attempt to roll out and I kept adding and adding flour to the point that when I was finally able to make the gnocchi, they tasted like flour glue globs and I had to pitch them in the trash--my dogs had the good sense not to even consider tasting them. I was very disappointed because other recipes I have tried from Giada have been fail proof and were delicious. I think someone should have her take a look at the measurements on this again.
