Very one-note and WAY, WAY too sweet. Maybe Giada uses cheap grocery-store star anise. When I made it with Penzey's really fresh star anise it was way too strong. Needs something besides anise and needs about half the amount of Condensed milk. It was so thick as to be almost syrupy. WIll search for a better and more authentic recipe.

I wish I had read the reviews before I made this. I was WAY too sweet...almost sickly sweet! I would make this again, but leave out the sugar. As recommended by another review, the sugar in the sweetened condensed milk should be more than enough!

I agree with others that this doesn't taste like the iced tea you get at Thai restaurants but it's still pretty darn good! I took advice from other reviewers and reduced the sugar. I only added a 1/4 cup of sugar instead of a 1/2 cup and it was plenty sweet for me! I will definitely make again!

This is SO GOOD! We did cut back on the sugar, due to one of my daughters not being able to have to much sugar. My 9 year old daughter makes this and its her special thing for me : We love Giada and have been cooking lots of her meals. This tea is wonderful! You must try it! You must make the whole meal to go with it, we loved it!

Finally! Finally a Thai Iced Tea recipe I can do at home. The flavor isn't exactly like what I've had in Thai restaurants but it is close enough for my tastes. I do think I will either halve the sugar or omit it entirely next time, as the drink was plenty sweet. Thanks, Giada!

Fabulous! I don't even add sugar. The condensed milk makes it sweet enough for me, and I have a serious sweet tooth. Taste YUMMY with cinnamon sticks too! I'm going to try vanilla beans next.

This is so delicious. I like sweet drinks, but if you want less sweet, you can drop the sugar. For me, it's perfect! It's the tea that I love to buy but never knew how to make. Thanks Giada!
