I made the potatoes; they are fabulous. Everyone loved them! Two of our guests are British and they said they love potatoes and these were no exception. I didn't change a thing. I didn't have a mandolin, but just sliced thinly and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. Yum...I'm glad I have leftovers!

I watched Giada's show this morning, went on the Food Network site and downloaded this recipe and the Pork Chops with apples. I and my daughter got right into preparing and cooking, We had this meal for dinner tonight, it was fabulous. It is in my recipe file. Thank you.

The flavor is absolutely amazing - so savory and melts in your mouth. Nice change with the combination of yams and yukon golds. Even if you've made "scalloped" potatoes or potatoes "gratin" many times before, try this recipe - you won't regret it!

I happened to have most of the ingredients, I used 1% milk in place of the heavy cream. This dish is amazing!!!!! We could not stop eating it. The onions were so sweet they were like candy and the combo of the two potatoes are great together. I will be making this one again!
