I just made this today. My husband, who does not usually eat desserts, devoured it. This is simple, elegant and absolutely delicious. I added a few blueberries and raspberries on the side, too.

This recipe was good, but it was very sour and it had a weird consistency to it. I did use mascarpone cheese that was close to its expiration date, which might have had something to do with the graininess of the cream. Also, it took a lot longer in the electric mixer to get it thick than the recipe said. Even then, it wasn't all that firm. When I tried the cream by itself, it was very sour. But when I put it on the cake it was better, since the cake was so sweet. My husband said it tasted like key lime pie. Next time, I might try adding a little more sugar.

What's not to like? You can upgrade the frozen pound cake with one from the bakery and use canned, drained mandarin oranges for the garnish to save even more time. I do like the suggestion submitted earlier about flipping the pound cake so both sides are crisped. Now that I can cook some things as well as Giada, can I please have her perfect life?

I made this for a small gathering with friends, and it received rave reviews from them (and also from my husband who was lucky enough to grab some leftovers. It was so easy and I never would have thought to do this with these ingredients. Definitely a keeper!

Wow, the citrus cream is to die for! Only substitute, I made an angel food cake (didn't have a pound cake and had strawberries, so I used those instead and it still was a hit! I will definitely serve this again!

OMG!! My daughter and I really enjoyed this dessert. The citrus cream was so light that you didn't think about the calories. The pound cake was awesome toasted. You can taste the hint of butter and honey. It was the perfect combination.
    Enjoy!

The citrus cream is so delicious! I made it with chilled marscapone, and it still comes out thick (in response to the comment below. Very easy to make!

I've made this recipe twice and I really like all of it, but I especially like the citrus cream. The first time I made it I thought the cream came out well but was a little thick. The second time I made the recipe, it turned to butter, not so good. I will make the recipe again in the future but I will do a couple things differently. First, I think I made a mistake bringing the marscapone cheese to room temperature, so I will make sure I have that chilled next time. Second, I will make sure my beaters are well chilled. Aside from user error, this is a great recipe. Thanks Giada.
