First of all, I don't bake much at all. (I had to borrow cake pans But I was having guests Sunday night after church. 11 people. So I decided to try this cake. YIKES! I live in Florida in a house that was built in 1930. I have a gas stove and it gets amazingly hot in my kitchen in the summer when I turn it on. The cake came out great and I let it cool. But it was so hot in my kitchen, when I went to ice it the frosting started to slide off the cake. OMG! I ran to my laundry room which is in a newer addition to the house where I have an extra freezer. Put the cake in the freezer for about 15 mins, took it out and finished frosting it in my laundry room. My husband and mom were laughing at me because every time I try to bake something it seems like I have a crisis. Too Funny! Anyway, the cake was rescued, everyone loved it. It was definitely sweet, but very moist. The Orange and raspberry was really nice together.

Great cake! Looks so pretty. I used a lemon cake mix, and cream cheese in the icing, made a few high altitude adjustments too.
I laugh at the reviews that say it tastes bad , or dry, or too sweet. You baked it! :

My sister and I made this cake for our mother's birthday. First off, one large orange yielded to only 1 tablespoon of orange zest, not 1/4 cup. Second, the amount of sugar in the frosting made the cake way too sweet. Almost too sweet to eat. On the plus side, it looked cute, the cake was fairly easy to make, and I liked the orangey flavor. But, I do not think I will make this one again.

I just made this for my husbands birthday and it is so easy and so good! I used sour cream instead of creme fraiche because my local grocery store didn't carry it. I also did an orange marmalade version and it came out delicious! Thanks for this recipe, it is going in my binder!

My granddaughter and I made this cake today with great anticipation...it was horrible! Dry, and the frosting was so sweet it was nasty! It's hard to believe it would be anyone's "favorite"...

This cake was so easy to make and the flavor combination is perfect! I found creme fraiche at my Publix. This is a keeper.

I did not like this cake at all. It was dry and tasteless and the icing was revolting. I will never make again. I followed the directions EXACTLY and it came out looking nice but tasting like crap. Don't make this!!!

This cake is a perfect summer dessert. The cake is so light and moist and the icing is ridiculously yummy. I used Greek yogurt instead of creme fraiche and got a great texture. I also used a tbs of orange juice instead of water to thin the icing a bit. The zip of the raspberries and yogurt combine beautifully with the traditional creamy, sweet butter and sugar. I can't wait to share this cake with my family and friends! It's also quite easy on the eyes!

I made this cake for my mom's birthday and all 9 of us loved it. It is a beautiful cake with the light pink icing and raspberries surrounding the bottom - it's one of those that gets oohs and aahs as you bring it in to the room. The cake is light yet incredibly flavorful. I will definitely be making this one again and again.
