I find it most useful in remembering the recipes when the picture is included in the print out of each recipe. Giada does not include the picture and I print many of her recipes and would love if she would agree to do this.
Thanks
Kathy

the pastry took longer to cook than what the recipe stated, maybe 12-13 minutes total. i ended up removing the upper sheet pan after 10 mins to allow the tops to cook, which i think was the main problem. (i used an oven thermometer so i know that wasn't the problem. i baked them off and then arrived at the party and assembled the rest and baked it there. i didn't place as much of the tappenade as directed, since i thought it would be too overpowering. it was a hit with all the guests and honestly a snap to put together.

First time I have worked with puff pastry. Recipe was great tasting but couldn't get pastry to brown. Cooked longer than suggested. Thought it turned out very greasy and soggy.....any suggestions???I really don't think it's my oven. It's a new Wolf. Haven't had any previous problems. Is the timing on the recipe incorrect? First recipe of Giada's that I've been disappointed with:(

Nothing too spectacular. Some people really liked them, but I just thought they were okay.

I thought these appetizers were delicious, but I had a hard time getting the puff pastry to cook. They needed more than the 10-12 minute time period posted. I took them out after 15 minutes, thinking they would cook the second time after I spread the tapenade and other ingredients on top, but they didn't.

I prepared this right after seeing the show and took it to a birthday party/wine tasting. Everyone raved!!
My puff pastry took a bit longer than the recipe stated but I'm sure it was just my oven.
Don't hesitate to give this recipe a try!!

I substituted basil pesto for the tepanade. I love using fontina cheese, and it melted so nicely. I will be using this recipe next time I entertain.
