I chose this recipe as my 1st attempt at cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving. After almost the entire turkey was eaten at dinner, I decided I had made a great choice! It was very tasty and extremely juicy. I found that it needed to cook longer than what was recommended, but it was fantastic!

This is the best turkey I have very roasted. It was so moist!! Being at a high altitude I always need to adjust recipes. The only thing I needed to do here was to add more broth to the pan when I basted it every 30 to 45 minutes. It also took longer to cook, but of course that depends on the weight. Great turkey!!!

This recipe is very similar to how I usually prepare our turkey...but this is definitely our NEW favorite! We roast our turkeys in a cooking bag which is a no-fail way to keep the turkey moist, yet browns the skin. Never has our home smelled sooo incredible! The flavor was outstanding, it was easy to prepare, and we can't wait to make it again!

I was able to find Herbs De Provence at my local grocery, McCormic makes it. This turkey was so moist and delicious, it literally fell of and separated from the bone! It was perfectly brown (even though I put it in a turkey roasting bag and smelled heavenly. The only changes I made to this recipie was placing the turkey in a roasting bag and flavor injecting it with a 70-30 solution of chicken broth and Marsala cooking wine. I got a lot of compliments on the turkey and my husband was very impressed! Give this one a try, you won't regret it.
PS - I never got a "bitter" taste from my lemons and oranges.

Too much chicken stock. The chicken stock dominated the flavor of the turkey gravy.
