People seem afraid of fennel. Such an enhancement to the recipe. You can par boil it and then broil it .

OMG, this was just so delish! Made it just like Giada's instructions and it is to die for! Really so very good. My husband is not a fan of vegetarian dishes or of eggplant, but he loved this one, as did I. This recipe will be in my 'favorite box' and we'll have it often, especially as Summer approaches! Thanks Giada!

Tasty but the fennel was hard. Needs more time on the grill than stated in the recipe. Too salty. The salt from the cheeses together with the salt added were way too much. It could be a great recipe if these things were adjusted.

This recipe is incredible!! Can't say enough good things about it. Who knew vegetables, marinara sauce, and cheese could be so delicious together! My husband even loves it, even though it doesn't have meat! Love it with a piece of garlic bread. I've made it an 8 x 8 pan also and just cut back on ingredients.

Really good. Pleases everyone. I've even turned it into a vegetable lasagna by adding cooked lasagna noodles and ricotta.

The first night we made this, we all thought it was just okay. The next night we had it for leftovers with a big salad and garlic bread and it was freakin' amazing!!! My biggest tip is to make it the day before. It's like night and day the difference in flavor!!!! Love this recipe and will make again. Next time I'll do zucchini, eggplant, and fennel for the veggies. :D

Fantastic! My first grader gobbled up the eggplant & my neighbors raved! Delicious dinner and easy to put together. I've never cooked with eggplant or fennel before, but now these two veggies will be in our regular rotation.
