This was just not good at all. I love lentils, spinach, brown rice all the ingredients and because I am a vegetarian I am always looking for new recipes that are a play on the old favorite, "veggie" meatloaf sounded awesome. For the time and effort and all the ingredients that I had to buy to put into this dish it is def not worth it. It came out way to mushy and was very disappointing.

This is a delicious concoction of grains and veggies, without being a block of cheese. It took a good two hours to make, but was worth the effort - very hearty. When she directs the addition of salt and pepper, really go for it. I tend to use a dash when there are no measurements, and it was undersalted.

This is one of my favorite recipes. It takes some time, and to make sure you get the consistency right, you MUST dry the spinach like she demonstrates in her show. I am a Pescatarian, so I am always looking for great recipes veggie recipes. My husband is a meat eater and this is also one of his all time favorite things for me to make for him. We double the recipe and freeze the extra loaf for later.

This recipe was time consuming but like all things that are great, worth the effort. It is a great vegetarian recipe for our family and I am so glad I found it! I am impressed with this one!

This is DELICIOUS, MAGNIFICENT. Anyone who thinks it doesn't hold together maybe didn't cook it all the way?
ALL my family loves it and it is going on our rotation for once every 10 days or so. Very budget-friendly, just wonderful. The first time we made it I did not read the recipe all the way through so it seemed rushed and labor-intensive. But now it is a routine, down pat and thoroughly delicious.
I have forwarded this recipe to my friends for their ENJOYMENT. (did you get how much we love it?

We are not vegetarians, but we have this dish a couple times each month. I usually sort the rice and lentils the day before. I have used white rice for this recipe. I don't bother with the basil, but I am sure it would be even better with it. I have used chicken broth instead of the vegetable stock. I also don't bother with the sauce. I use canned pureed tomato. I also shred lowfat monzerella instead of chopping the fresh cheese. These changes I have made use items I typically have on hand and keep this recipe very budget friendly.

Sorry Giada, but this one fails on all levels. It was very complicated, and it just really tasted awful!! I found the "loaf" did not hold together well, the flavors were dull and ultimately we only ate 3 bites before ordering pizza. I usually love the stuff Giada makes - this one however was completely yukky!!

I loved the taste of this dish, but it took too much time. I would recommend prepary the Checca in the morning and using frozen spinach. Otherwise you are using 3 pans, 2 bowls and a food processor. The time it took plus clean up was 1.5 hours.

It tasted great but didn't hold together as I would have liked. Three cloves of garlic in the sauce was too much. All in all it was a lovely dish.
