I was excited to make this recipe after reading all of the over the top comments. Sorry, but it just didn't live up to the hype. I followed the recipe exactly and it was okay but nothing special. I doubt I will make it again.

This recipe was okay for me. There seems to be way too much chicken, creating a somewhat bland chili. I used all the seasoning and toasted the spices like she talked about on the show. I have another chili recipe that tops this one for me, but I may try it again and make a few changes.

My husband loved this chili...and he was a sceptic! He thinks chili is too close to soup to be a meal but this version of a white chili was quite tasty and hearty enough that he actually wanted to save enough to take to work for lunch. This recipe was a big hit and will go into my book of special recipies!

I made this last night. My kids and picky sister-n-law ate two bowls of this chili. Now going to be a new favorite.

This was a fantastic recipe. I saw your show and knew my family would love this chili. It is pretty easy to make from pantry items and our local grocery had the ground chicken. I left out the chard and replaced the pepper flakes with plenty of Louisana Hot Sauce and it was a hit. It was so much of a hit that I had to make it again the next night so I would have some to put up in the freezer. The first batch was pretty much gone.

I just made this chili, and it was pretty good! It seemed like something was missing though. I read the recipe and it says to add the chicken and the spices- make sure you toast the spices for a minute BEFORE you add the meat. In the show Giada does this, and I think it would add more depth of flavor than I got. All in all it was a great, healthy recipe. And don't forget the cheddar and scallion bread bc it really goes well with the chili :

I first watched the show and then looked up the recipe for this online. I have never made a white bean and chicken chili and I thought this would definitely be something that my boyfriend and I would enjoy. What I did notice is that the recipe is not quite written how Giada followed it on the show. So I would definitely recommend watching the episode first because there are missed steps in the written recipe online. As Giada usually does, she seasons after most every step/addition in her cooking and when you read the directions online, they do not include these very important steps to getting the good flavor that you will learn to expect from a Giada recipe. I think that is why some people have given this recipe a bad review, because if you don't end up adding the salt and pepper after you add the chicken, beans and chard than you will come up with a very bland-tasting chili. Make sure to season properly and you will be entirely satisfied!! If you are not a fan on fennel seeds I would suggest using half of what the recipe calls for, I think she chooses to use the fennel seeds because they give you the feel that you are eating something richer-sausage, but instead you are eating healthy chicken. I also made the sharp cheddar and scallion bread to go with and it was delicious!

Sorry Giada. This is the first of Giada's recipes that I have tried that I didn't want to make again. I too have better chicken chili recipes that i will use. I was so disappointed as Giada rarely disappoints. The chicken tasted like sausage. It just wasn't good.

I used 2 chicken breasts which I boiled in the chicken broth and shredded. Then I used about half the amount of each spice and it was delicious! I also made the cheddar and scallion bread to go with it and the two were perfect together. This recipe is definately a keeper. Thanks Giada!

A co worker brought this in for me to try. He substituted turkey for the chicken and it was delicious. I never thought I would like the fennel but I think that is what makes it so unique. The corn was a nice touch also. Can't wait to make it for my family!!! Thanks Giada
