This is great! We added more beans than called for but it's great either way. We also blended about a quarter of it so our kids would eat the greens. It's not as pretty blended, but still really great! This is a keeper.

I was very impressed with the flavor! I read the reviews about some saying its bland or missing something. I used Ancho Chili powder, not sure if that makes a difference from regular chili powder. Also i added about 3 tbsp of hot pepper flakes at the beginning of the simmer instead of waiting until the last 10 min. Maybe that allowed the flavors to be more robust! Anyways, my boyfriend loved it and so did I! Oh yeah i forgot to mention, I did not add any flour!

WOW delicious! I made a LARGE pot and it went sooo fast. I used rotisserie chicken from another recipe, it was divine. We poured it on top of white rice, MUCH better than red chili! My son wanted to take to school for lunch :

Amazing that so many people leave out the fennel seeds! What flavor they are missing out on! I suppose if you just don't care for that particular flavor it makes sense to leave it out but please don't leave it out just because other people are. Try it. You never know, you might like it! This is a fabulous recipe AS IS. Hearty, wonderful textures, thick, deep, complex seasonings. Yum! Wonderfully rich and appealing to even the picky eaters in my house.

Amazing! I use ground turkey and it is literally the best chili I've ever made! It's a hit with everyone who tastes it! YUM! I'm making a double batch so it lasts more than 2 days!

This recipe was easy enough to prepare and had decent flavors, but it was missing an element to really make it "pop". Maybe a bit of sour cream or some bell peppers to give it a hint of sour to counterbalance the salt from the broth. As some reviewers said, it may be a good basic recipe to start from. I'll probably just look for a different recipe next time.

I think this is a great base recipe for white bean chili. And the greatest thing about cooking at home is making a dish "your own". For textural difference I used 1lb ground chicken & two boneless chicken breasts cubed. I love cumin so did a dry rub on the breasts before cooking them. I omitted fennel (not a fan, oregano, and Parmesan cheese. My BF is originally from Pakistan and we both love spices so to this I added some ground turmeric, smoked coriander & paprika which gave a nice smokey flavor to the ground chicken. Added a can of fire roasted tomatoes instead of corn and used fresh spinach instead of Swiss chard. I also did a mixture of cannellini, navy & great northern beans. A bit less stock and added light coconut milk. I put the mixture in a crock pot on low for a few hours....added the can of cannellini beans towards the end and fresh cilantro on top before serving. Also made fresh Roti bread with chopped green chilis & freshly chopped mint. AMAZING and so simple.

I don't normally make chicken chili b/c it doesnt have much taste, but this recipe exceeded my expectations and was delicious! However, b/c I did not have ground chicken, I used chunks of chicken breast and substituted frozen chopped spinach for the chard. Really good!
