I am a fan of whole wheat pasta and an even bigger fan of lemon so I thought this recipe would be superb. My only changes were adding a few asparagus tips and halving the recipe. The lemon zest was gorgeous, but in hindsight I would have liked a little bit of onion or garlic and a squeeze of lemon juice. The texture of the ricotta IMO was the letdown. I would have liked better a previous poster's idea of goat cheese. I will try that next time. Thanks Giada!

I love Giada's recipes and this looked like a good base for something delicious with a few minor changes. 1. I am not a huge fan of ricotta cheese, so I substituted 5 ozs of goat cheese which seem to have the same fat/calorie content when I compared low fat ricotta with goat cheese. 2. I added 1/4 cup of toasted pine nuts. 3. A squeeze of lemon juice to taste. 4. I used penne pasta because I couldn't find whole wheat linguini.

    It was really good!

This is the most bland pasta dish I've ever made and tasted. I didn't use whole-wheat linguine because I only had penne on hand. You'll definitely need more salt than what the recipe called for. Also, the next day, I tried to salvage the dish by adding more garlic, green bands, italian herbs, and red pepper flakes, but nothing did the trick. I'll never make this again. What a waste!

As a proud carnivore, I wasn't sure how this dish would turn out but it looked really good on the show and had to try it. It's so easy to make. The key to me in giving this dish flavor is the lemon zest, salting the pasta water, and seasoning to taste when combining everything at the end. It's not saucy but the cup of pasta water gave the dish enough moisture for me and it turned out better than I expected. White wine would also be a great way to add some more flavor. I kept some of the pasta water so I could add some moisture in when warming up leftovers.

If you like your food salty or to have a meaty taste, this dish may not appeal to you.

This was a delicious dish! I thought I had green beans and did not; however, I had asparagus and used that instead - fabulous!

This recipe claims to be a "lighter version of cream sauce." What it really tastes like it some pasta with cottage cheese mixed in. It was really bland and pretty dry- try one of Giada's other recipes if you want a good dinner. This one was definitely not worth the effort!!

This pasta was delicious. The lemon zest and the flavor of the whole wheat pasta really made this dish what it is. You can't really cut any ingredients or swap out anything on this one, though. Make sure you add enough salt, because ricotta cheese is not a salty cheese. My husband loves most Giada recipe's and this was one to add to our "make it again" list. Thanks Giada!

a rarity, the entire family loved this recipe. It was easy to make and as a bonus, we used tomatoes & green beans from the garden.
