I made this for my husband, but had a couple tastes myself. I followed the measurements given by the other reviewer/bartender.
My review: I personally like fresh ginger flavored things. I could barely taste the ginger in it. As you sip, you get a sweet rush from the syrup and a refreshing smell from the cucumber slice. Then it turns to a strong vodka bite in your mouth. I would give it 3 stars...
My husband: Says he can completely taste the ginger and it was too strong of a flavor. Said he had to force the drink down. He would give it 1 star.

I am an ex bartender so I can put this drink together easily enough, but for those who aren't, maybe a guideline for the vodka and sake would be nice?
Here's what I did, along with the muddles ginger/simple syrup
3 oz vodka
1/4 to 1/2 oz sake depending on how strong you like your drinks. More sake tames the vodka taste.
Add a squeeze of lemon for a nice counter to the simple syrup.
Enjoy!
