I never made gingerbread cookies before but once the dough was made the rest was a snap. The kids loved it and they are good, i am taking my leftovers and turning them into a gingerbread cookie bread pudding!

I've used this recipe every year since 2002 and makes the BEST gingerbread cookies ever. The only alterations I make are adding a bit less pepper (1/8 tsp instead of 1/4 and 1 1/4 stick butter total (or 10 Tablespoons INSTEAD of the vegetable shortening. HINT: use ORIGINAL or LIGHT molassas NOT robust which is overpowering. Lots of other recipes are too crumbly and bake hard, not this one! PERFECT!!!!

This was a great recipe. It was very easy to make and soft but easy to work with. The only thing I did diffently, was to use PUMPKIN PIE SPICE for my spices(since it contains all the ones needed. I will keep using this one!!!

Very tasty! Nice texture. If anything, it needs a bit more spice, and perhaps a tad more sugar. But over all, a good recipe. I'd use it again!

This is the first time I have ever made gingerbread from scratch, it was surprisingly easier than I expected and the taste brought back some SWEET childhood memories of baking with my grandma! Very tasty, just the right amount of spicy, with enough sweet for the sweet tooth.

I made these for a semi-formal fundraiser where looks as well as taste count; and they were fantastic! I couldn't believe that the recipe really did make exactly 36 cookies!

This was my frist time making gingerbread cookies and after this recipe, I'll definately be making them again! The flavor was wonderful and delicious. I chilled the dough over night and it was very easy to work this the next day.

The flavor was great. They were a little dry, but they're better than the type you buy... I'm definately making them again!

I get requests every year from my friends. Asking me if I will make them some gingerbread cookies! The flavor is outstanding and they are a very moist cookie if you cut them out thick like I do!
