One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, Black Bottle, has an oven-roasted broccoli dish, and I went with Alton's recipe hoping to replicated. I have to say, it was pretty darn close. A few changes I made:
-didn't have panko, so used garlic-herb bread crumbs, which added even more flavor
-added crushed red pepper for some zip
-Cooked at 450 for 15 minutes, until the broccoli florets were crispy and almost blackened...just like at Black Bottle. YUM.

I don't even usually like broccoli but I absolutely love this dish. I actually go back for seconds- on BROCCOLI!! My 2 year old gobbles it up as well.

This dish was great! It was easy to make, and a nice change from, well, this mom's overcooked broccoli. The whole show was a revelation actually, I don't think I'll ever use frozen broccoli ever again.

We didn't care for the flavor of the roasted broccoli. However, the panko crumbs and garlic were nice. Next time, I'll just steam as usual, then add the suggested ingrediants.

This is probably great if you don't like the taste of broccoli. But my husband and I both like broccoli and found this to be lacking in flavor. The broccoli texture was great, but the flavor took a backseat to the panko, garlic and cheese. We'll stick with steaming.

I made this quick and easy side-dish for dinner on Friday night and everyone loved it. Sure, I had to convince my 8 year old daughter that it didn't taste like regular broccoli, but when I got her to try it she loved it.

This broccoli recipe was easy to throw together on a weeknight. It seems to be relatively healthy, as well. I followed the recipe exactly except that I roasted the broccoli about 5 to 7 minutes longer than suggested. I will definitely make it again.

Sounds so good. Even my son will eat this one.
