I made this snack gluten free with gluten free oats grown here locally in Wyoming, as well as with brown rice flour. They were just as delicious as store-bought and tasted so much healthier!

My two year old daughter and I had so much fun making these together. The ingredients are easy to switch around. We used dried cranberries and white choc. chips instead. They were very sweet though so it took us awhile to get through the pan. We will have to try them again and see what other variations we can come up with!

I made them with these modifications:

    dried peaches instead of raisins
    oatmeal instead of coconut
white chocolate chips instead of semi sweet

They were delicious! Very sweet though. I have more of a salt tooth than a sweet tooth, so they were a bit much for me, but everyone else who tried them LOVED them. A very good, versatile recipe!

You can reduce the amount of sugar and butter to make this a more healthy recipe. I also add a cup of rice crispie cereal in lieu of the raisins and coconut. Overall- an excellent recipe that beats store bought for a fraction of the price.
