I'm a northerner so not familiar with true southern cornbread, but we love this cornbread. Even the kids scarf it down. Making chili tonight and everyone requested this cornbread to go with it. Yummy!

I couldn't find my standard recipe for cornbread tonight, so I tried this one based on the reviews. I wasn't expecting anything much and that's exactly what I got. I followed the directions to the letter (I am a professional pastry school graduate. The flavor was dull and the texture was sticky and heavy. No one ate more than a nibble. I've made better cornbread with a mix. Won't be making this one again.

I was heating some left over chili and I wanted something a little more interesting than just plain cornbread. I made the skillet cornbread and it was great. As other reviewers suggested I inverted the corn meal and flour ratios. I also used whole wheat flour vice white flour and cut the amount of pimentos in half. This recipe is a keeper. I'll be using it instead of plain cornbread whenever I make cornbread in the future.

I think it's the corn kernels that make it, but it is quite different, and a great corn bread. Haven't gone back to my old recipe since I have this one.

Seemed to have too much flour and not enough cornmeal. I think it would have been better without the corn too. It was a little on the bland side. It just didn't have enough flavor for me.

This is wonderful. I usually don't like corn bread too dry and tasteless. Not this one! I added a can of chopped green chili and it was the best I've ever tasted. I will be making this one again

It was my first attempt at making cornbread & it tasted great! Just eat it all right away because it will go bad if you leave it out. The eggs I guess.

Made this the other night to test it for a chili party later this week. It was a hit! (however I left out the pimiento and scallions

Tried this last night, only added some chopped jalapeno. Wonderful!! Also made "Edna Jones Meat and Bean Chili". My wife said it was the best ever. A MUST for chili lovers. This terrific cornbread is great with the chili recipe. Genuine comfort food!

Very moist and flavorful. I love cornbread that has actual corn added. My only change was to throw frozen corn in a the food chopper to change the texture a little. My kids also loved it. Thanks!
