Best green bean casserole I have ever tried, it's very rich and creamy and full of flavor. This is a favorite of my family that we now make every holiday!!

Wonderful! Tried it with Campbells Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic soup and it was amazing! Not a bite left.

I have now made this recipe for 5 years running. It is the best sauce for a green bean casserole ever. I always get serious compliments on it and they always want the recipe for themselves.
I have made a couple of modifications as time goes by, however.
    1. I add 2 cloves of fresh minced garlic to onions and mushrooms as I saute them.
    2. I use a mixture of white, baby portabello, and crimini mushrooms for the full mushroom flavor.
    3. I always use fresh green beans and simmer them in chickenstock till they are super tender, usually and hour or so.
    4. I always look for extremely sharp aged 3year white cheddar. It is a bit more expensive, but well worth the flavor.

cook the recipe for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and add the fried onions for the last 10-15 minutes

    It is yummy yummmy yummmmmmy!

I've been making this recipe since 2004. Everyone loves it and I make it every year. I bake it at 350 degrees and add the fried onion rings halfway through the cooking time; otherwise, they will burn. I'll try it with canned green beans this year to see if they come out softer.

I also sub 4 cans of green beans for the frozen. The frozen never got soft enough for me. I've been making this since 2002 and you can't get enough of it! Reheats well too. Very yummy and soooo much better than the traditional recipe on the onion can. This is a family favorite made every Thanksgiving in our home. Try it!!

I normally don't like green bean casserole, as they are always bland. I tried this variation for Christmas and it was a hit! I used frozen green beans that I boiled for just a couple minutes in chicken broth before adding to the recipe. Otherwise, I didn't alter any ingredients and it came out great!

I made this as part of my Christmas lunch, and it got rave reviews! I can't stand the typical green bean casserole recipes, but the fresh mushrooms make the difference--I also used Campbell's Golden Select creamy portabello mushroom soup instead of the regular. Made a huge difference. My brother in law & father in law could not get enough, I HIGHLY recommend this! Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. YUMMY!!
