This green bean casserole is richer and has an extra special flavor and mouth feel. This is not the ordinary "canned" casserole flavor that has become so boring when one thinks of a green bean casserole. The sauteed fresh mushrooms, heavy cream, and white cheddar cheese gives this version a new great flavor twist to the old standard.

great dish but what are we supposed to guess what the cooking temp is??? FYI French's french fried onions suggests 350 degrees for 30-35 min.

I haven't tried this yet, but it doesn't tell you what to bake it at in the oven.

This is the best green bean casserole I've ever had. My kids even liked it!! My only suggestion is do not add salt. My family dosen't eat onions, so I used crumbled ritz crackers instead.

instead of cheddar cheese add a flavored white cheddar, perhaps a garlic herb cheddar. It's fantastic.
