I made this recipe exactly but with a couple of changes in the method. I used precooked bacon (the kind that hormel sells to avoid having raw bacon and the shrimp overcooked. Since the bacon is already shrunken from being precooked, I used a whole piece per shrimp and broiled them in the oven, turning once. I made the sauce per the recipe and it was great, maybe a little less brown sugar next time. My guests were really impressed with how pretty the skewers looked.

Made this shrimp dish last night for family and friends. The only good thing about this recipe was the bar-b-que sauce. The butcher thick style bacon woulld not stay in a curled position while cooking and mostly fell off the shrimp. Additionally this did not allow for proper and even cooking of the shrimp. I did try toothpicks, but that was not very successful. Maybe thinner and longer strips of bacon is the answer.

I never would have put these three flavors together, but I am so glad I did! I followed the recipe as it is written, and It was fantastic! As another reviewer wrote, I would make sure you use a thinner sliced bacon so it cooks with the shrimp. I also stretched the bacon to make sure it wrapped around the shrimp; my husband suggested holding the bacon together with toothpicks so it doesn't fall off the shrimp. We'll try that next time as we will definitely make this again.

I tried this recipe after having something similar at TGI Fridays. The BBQ sauce has got to be one of the best BBQ sauces that I have ever tasted. I got RAVE reviews on the sauce. I had a slight issue with the bacon because I cut the strips into thirds like the recipe said and they didn't quite make it all the way around all the shrimp and a few fell off during cooking. All in all, I will definitely make this recipe again!! foodnetwork.com has yet to disappoint!

Made this recipe for the first time today and it was FAB!!!!! I substituted red chili flakes for the jalapeno and cayenne pepper which provided just the right kick for this cook! A very, very easy recipe! Thank you Sunny!!!

These shrimp were delicious. I skipped the bacon but the bar-b-q sauce was so flavorful and tasty within itself. I'm looking forward to making this dish again, with the bacon. Thanks Sunny!

I prepared this dish, the very same day it aired. I like the shrimp/bacon taste. I would suggest using the the thin sliced bacon in the package to avoid over cooking the shrimp. We used our own homemade BBQ sauce and they were tasty. I would not make more than can be eaten in one day. They do not re-heat well. Enjoy!
