I loved this recipe! I added one roasted red bell pepper and a 1/4 cup jarred jalapeno relish. Didn't have the jarred peppers called for in the recipe, but wanted the heat. Excellent recipe.

I made this bean relish for our fire department get together and everyone commented on how great it was. I took leftovers into work and have had 3 or 4 requests for the recipe.
When I made this, I could not find the pepperdews, so substitued some red pepper that I seared on the grill. Then for a little heat added in a splash of hot sauce with the honey.

I tried it with friends and it is absolutely delicious. And I am NOT a fan of black beans! The only thing I added was some chopped cilantro. --- I will definetely try the bean dip with any leftovers we might have in the future! LOL --- I mean, THIS STUFF WAS GONE!!!

I don't even like beans and this salad is fantastic! The recipe makes quite a lot s I just use the garbanzo and white beans and it is enough for me and my husband. Thanks Guy!

Made this over Memorial Day weekend as alternative to same old baked beans. Plus we had a dozen people in so this was perfect for a lot of people. We ate it over 3 days and each day it got better. Only the non-bean lovers didn't like this recipe - actually the non-bean lovers didn't try it.

It sounded strange (suprised Guy doesn't have some crazy name as he does for so many other recipes a bean salad...but after watching it on the show-even Guy's guests were commenting on how good it was. And I figured their opinion held more weight than mine, so I thought I would give it a try. It was amazing!!! All the flavors really do come out in every bite, and everything was just perfect! The fact that it uses 4 cans of beans.....economy size recipe, it will for sure be a main stay in our house, especially for guests and parties!!! Thanks!!!!

I love beans, so I immediately got this recipe from the Food Network web site. First of all.....it's wonderful the way it is. I could not find the peppadews...I live in a very rural part of NJ and my two supermarkets here are quite small. But next time I make this salad ( I call it a salad, not a relish I'm going to drive to a lareger market and try to find the peppadews. I used a jar of roasted red peppers, cut up, in the place of the peppadews. Anyway, I took it to my church's Thanksgiving dinner and I was asked by several people for the recipe.
As I said, it is a wonderful dish made just liike the recipe, but I was really excited about some of the substitutes/changes some of you suggested!
By the way, this is a great dish for summer picnics, bar-b-ques. No mayonnaise! So should be able to tolerate the hot weather better than potato or macaroni salads.
I LOVE Guy's recipes. He makes the kind of food I love to eat. And this one was definately a winner!
