The recipe calls for the use of some of the reserved clam broth, but the show that aired recently, said there was no need. That being said, I used some of the reserved broth in my batter and countered that by not using as much of the beer. Play around with the recipe, as far as the ratio of liquod to dry ingredients is concerned. The batter should bee fairly thick, so as not to spread too much when it hits the oil. Thin batter or thick batter, they are delicious.

Over Spring Break, my husband and I raked for cockles on the Oregon Coast. We were successful! Looking for a new recipe for clams, we came upon this recipe. Yum-o-lish-cious! We will make for our family the next time! Thanks Guy!
