My daughter loves seafood, so I made these for her. I didn't put the cakes on a bun like Guy did, I just served the crab cakes with the slaw. My daughter went on and on about how wonderful they were. I am not a big fan of seafood, but tried the crab cakes after she begged me to eat just one bite. I loved it! It has become a family favorite and I have made them quite a few times.

I was so excited to try this recipe on my own. I found whole dungeness crab on sale for only 5.99/lb and i wasn't quite sure if it would be enough so the day I made them I bought another half pound of king crab and shelled and mixed the meat together. I followed the recipe just as Guy did it on the show. It turned out great. They stuck together amazingly. This was one Freaking awesome burger!!!! You're the man Guy!!!

Folks, these burgers are a great summer meal and WILL NOT fall apart if you add an extra dollop of mayo and/or half an additional egg (chances are your large eggs are not Food Network large eggs. The extra moisture keeps 'em together perfectly.

I followed the recipe to the letter, chilled them 3 hours prior to frying and the first one did fall apart . I then molded them more than I would have liked making sure they were well packed with no rough edges. These came out just like Guy's. The flavor was nice, but next time I will add a bit of old bay and lemon zest. I think the recipe yields 4 mega burgers but 5 large may be easier to fry and certainly filling.

Being from Maryland, I made a couple of slight changes to Guy's recipe. I added a bit of Old Bay, and we always fry our crab cakes in butter, not oil.

You really do have to let the crab cakes rest in the fridge for at least 3 hours before cooking them. Otherwise they will tend to fall apart.

These were very tasty, however, my crab burgers did not keep their shape like Guy's did on the show!
    Very good, though!
