Awesome recipe. Made a few changes each time I made it depending on what peppers were available. Also used ancho chili powder, chiptole chili powder, and roasted coriander instead of the ones listed in the recipe. Omitted the beans all together too. Not really a bean fan. Used my father-in laws homemade stout also and flavor came out amazing.Highly recommend this chili. The layers of flavor is second to none.

My husband and I LOVE this recipe. It is so versatile and never looses it's pazaz. Keeps well, has a very well rounded flavor and you can add it to just about anything and it makes it wonderful. Oh and that perfect amount of heat to balance with the flavor. Just all around good.

My favorite chili recipe! I have made this recipe many times and love the depth of flavor from roasting the peppers and the beer. Yuengling is my choice. The only real changes I have made are to take out the ground beef and replace it with more chuck roast. Sometimes I will thicken with some mesa flour.

AMAZING!!!! This recipe is delicious....all the flavors are very well put together. I used Redbridge Gluten Free beer because my husband has a gluten intolerance and the flavor is fantastic. I'll be making this recipe AGAIN! Give it a try is worth it....Yummy!!!!!

Well, this certainly took me longer than the 10 minutes of prep time as stated in the recipe, but it was well worth the time and ingredients. I make a pretty darn good 15-ingredient chili, but this is hands-down the best red chili with beans I've ever tasted. This is my new chili recipe. :

this recipe is a base for a good chili recipe for you to create yourself. Like Guy says, everybody makes chili their own way. I love to use poblanos and anaheims as the main peppers in my chili along with a sweet red bell, but sorry, I gotta add chipotles in adoboe to cure my tastes and serranos instead of jalapenos (they just have a deeper taste according to my pallet.
THIS IS ESSENTIAL: You absolutely HAVE to make your own chili powder for this to taste good. Store bought is just so tasteless. See Alton Browns chili powder recipe (practically everybody that makes their own powder uses this recipe. Once you make your own chili powder, you will never go back to store bought tasteless chili powder...try it folks its easy and makes ALL the difference! As far as the meat goes, the possibilities are endless. I use "sweet" Italian sausage and sometimes turkey. Heck, who am I kidding.. I use them all. Peace, Love and Food!

This chili was fantastic! I forgot to grab some chuck at the store so I just used the ground beef and italian sausage and I think that was plenty with all the veggies and beans. Had the perfect amount of spice to it. Bet the leftovers will taste even better! Good one Guy!

Good lord Guy.....I honestly was in the kitchen all day chopping, prepping this recipe, as I followed it to a T. Turned out not as good as all the other raves for this chili. She didn't like it, nor did I. Sorry Dude. Luv your stuff tho.
