Great dish. But honestly, the ten minute prep time is only realistic if it takes you ten minutes to:

    • cook a package of bacon to get bacon grease: 10-15 mins
    • roast, peel, and chop 3 Anaheims: 30 mins
    • clean and chop 4 peppers: 5 mins
    • clean and chop 2 onions: 5 mins
    • clean and chop 1 head garlic: 5 mins
    • prep sausage and beef: 10 mins

So... yeah...more like an hour prep time, unless you have a troop of elves at your disposal.

We get it: you want us to make these dishes. We probably will anyway - there's no need to be unrealistic about prep time.

The best chili ever! We couldn't find the hot paprika or even the anaheim chilies but still amazing. Yeah, there's some chopping and can opening but still pretty easy, do what I did and get my husband in there to help. Can't wait to serve it to family and friends. Winner, winner..chili dinner!

WOW! This was excellant but very hot! I probably could have used 1 Poblano and 1 Anaheim and it still would have been great! The boneless chuck makes the whole thing. Used only 1 can of kidney beans and that was it for the beans. Fried up some hot sausage-used Hunts crushed tomato sauce and let it simmer for a few hours. Bought a loaf of Rosemary bread, toasted it and sprinkled garlic powder on it-dunked it in the chili....delicious!

Absolutley AWESOME!!!! i DID roast my chilies, it was fun! Best chili i have ever had! Just won the Neighborhood chili cookoff last night! The 10 minute prep time is a little misleading, i would allow a good 35 - 45 minutes for the chopping and such. I pretty much followed it to the word except for the pinto beans (i used black beans, i like them better. SO GOOD!!

This is the kind of chili you want to eat every time you visit your favorite eatery. Absolutely delicious! I didn't roast any peppers, and used quite a variety(habanero, cerrano, chipotle- and tinkered with the amounts of the peppers called for. Spent so much time chopping & dicing that I delayed making cornbread until the next day, but the time spent was well worth it. I followed the meat dosage to a T- used angus chuck stew meat, and cut most of those pieces in half. It adds a wonderful 'steaky' texture to the finished chili.

Don't change a thing...it is fantastic!!! Make sure you leave enough prep time as 10 minutes is a bit of a joke; I'd leave at least 30 minutes to dice everything. Also, I did not roast the peppers as several people stated they had made it both ways and did not see a difference. Yummy flavors!!!

Absoutely the best! A homerun recipe. I add a few more veggies for ours (such as fresh mushrooms and variety of bell pepper, but it is also great the way it is! Thank you Guy!

Love this chili!! I make it all the time. I have made it with roasting the chilis and without roasting the chilis, and didn't notice too much of a difference. So if you don't have the time or don't want to put forth the effort, I wouldn't worry about it. Also, I never use the cubed beef, just the ground beef and hot italian sausage.

YUM YUM YUM!!! While this recipe does have a lot of ingredients, it was WELL worth the effort! I just used canola oil instead of the bacon grease because I had it on hand, and left out the sausage since I'm not a fan of it. Hands down the best chili I've ever made - goodbye store bought chili kits!!! Thanks, Guy :
