This is the best chili I have ever made! Just follow the directions and you can't go wrong. I did however alter the recipe a little. I used hot italian sausage, sirloin cut into 1" cubes, and substituted cayenne pepper for a home grown Trinadad Scopion. Everything else was to the tee. Samuel Adams Boston lager was the beer of choice. You could use any meat you desire for perfect results. Thanks Guy!

I want to say that I was slightly disappointed in the chili. It looked so very yummy when Guy made it, and my husband begged me to make it for weeks after. I made it exactly as directed and the ingredients were EXPENSIVE! Thank God it made enough for two dinners, but I have never thought of chili as a budget buster before lol. It was good, but I will be sticking to my normal chili recipe.

This really is the best chili ever. I had to make a few tweaks because I didnt have stuff on hand. I omitted the cubed chuck and used extra hamburger. I used hot italian sausage and green peppers and omitted the bacon grease and doubled the jalapenos since I didn't have anaheim peppers. It was so good and I didnt have to buy spices because I keep all of these on hand. There may be alot of ingredients but many are in your pantry and its well worth it. This is my go to chili receipe from here on. My hubby was in heaven. Thanks

This was the best chili ever! I won 1st place in a Chili Cook-Off raising money for the United Way! Everyone loved it, and the judges asked for seconds of this chili!!!! It was a hit, and every drop was gone before anyone elses was half gone!! Try it, it's worth the cost and time!!!

This is my favorite chili ever, and I have tried many, many recipes from this site. Emeril's was winning until I made this one. The only change I made was 2 lbs of chuck and 1 lb of ground, instead of the other way around. I get rave reviews every time I make it.

Awesome...A lot of prep but so worth it! I added some fresh hot peppers cause we like it hot! I omitted the chunks of meat and just used the ground beef/sausage. I also used fresh garlic and onion and sauteed with the other veggies I am not a fan of granulated garlic & onion when you can use the real thing! Otherwise fantastic! As usual Guy makes a great dinner for my family! Thanks Guy! Thumbs up!!!!

This was verrrry good chili, didn't have two jalapenos so only used one, the roasting of the peppers was a bit challenging and the prep time was much longer than I anticipated. I might make this without the ground chuck next time to cut the cost a little and use a hot sausage instead of sweet. Very flavorful and worth the extra time of prepping.
