This recipe is PERFECT for restaurant-quality prime rib at home. My family loves prime rib for the holidays, but we shied away from it cause it never seemed as tasty as when you get it in a restaurant. This recipe is super easy. My biggest eye-opener is the texture of the beef when you eat it - rich, smooth, and delicious! Since finding this recipe, we've had it for Christmas dinner every year. And the leftovers make the BEST sandwiches!

I've made it before and I'm making it again. Not sure why it says only yields 5-6 servings. Just cook to proper internal temperature no matter what the weight.

I'm itching to make this recipe for the holidays, here's my concern/question. I don't have a second refrigerator to put the meat in undisturbed for 9 days, won't the meat have a tendency to spoil in a regular fridge since you are opening and closing the door through out the day?
Thanks,
Rich

Guy's "Aged Prime Rib Roast" recipe is so fantastic, it not only holds a place of high honor in my family's Christmas tradition, it made it into my Recipe Passions' Journal to be kept for posterity; fully credited to Guy in the notes section. Yet, it is baffling that the FN would permit of one of its best professionals - not to mention in a recipe requiring one of the best cuts of meat - to be denigrated by SPAM! and not the more honorable canned kind. Like (almost everyone else, I click on "Reviews" for the shared community of home cooks whose generous postings have often saved me from my own costly mistakes. It is disconcerting when, rather than adding to our collective pot, a reviewer seeks to take out of our individual pockets! , Please, FN, I am all for free speech and have, on occasion, even benefited from quality marketing, but this venue hardly seems the place for such unauthorized advertising as "Buy more to send"; please, make its footsteps stop here!.

I think i would like this site to find a way to have reviews be reviews rather than an advertisement for someone to sell something. it is irritating. what does a site selling something have to so with Guy's recipe for prime rib which by the way is awsome. I use to use the no fail but now i use this one. great flavor

What would happen if you aged this recipe for 20 days? Would that be o.k.? Can anybody out there tell me?

Hands down, the absolute best prime rib recipe I've ever used. My family was upset with me that I was changing the precious Christmas prime rib, but I needed a change. I will never go back to what I used to use. You will not be disappointed if you take a chance. Awesome, unbelievable, unforgetable. Only 2 weeks till I get a prime and start the dry age process. woohoo!!!!
