I should have paid more attention to these reviews before making the sauce. It was way too salty. I thought a tablespoon seemed a bit much, but decided to follow the recipe anyway... I definitely won't make that mistake again! The falafel part of the recipe was great though!

These have great flavor and because you only fry them for 3-4 minutes, the outside ends up crispy while the inside is moist. We didn't have any "too greasy!" problems with these at all.

We used red pepper flakes instead of chili flakes, if you aren't a HUGE fan of spice and want to taste all the flavors I would cut the flakes back from 1 tsp to 1/2-3/4. Best bet is to taste the mix before frying (no meat! all safe!

Be careful when food processing the parsley/cilantro that all the steps get pulverized. I think I'll start the food processor off with the herbs then add the garbonzos next time.

The yogurt sauce is great. We used plain Greek yogurt instead of normal, made for a thicker sauce and blended well with the spices. Be sure to mince your herbs well.

And like other reviewers mentioned, do NOT add 1 Tbsp salt. We went with 1/2 a teaspoon and an extra dash of lemon juice and it was great. (Again, taste after you mix!

I followed the recipe to a T.I I liked the onion/red pepper/garlic but there still wasn't as much flavor as I was looking for. If I try it again I'll probably up all the seasonings by at least 1/2 a tsp & I'll add some garlic salt. Maybe a little cayenne pepper too. It also had too much parsley for my liking. The patties turn out a pretty green color though.

Instead of frying them, I brushed some olive oil on each side & broiled them for 3 min on each side. Turned out crispy & a lot healthier.

This recipe is almost perfect. The falafel are tender and not dry at all. The pepper and onion add flavor and color and most of all, its an easy recipe! I cut back on the salt in the mixture as reccomended in prior reviews and it turned out perfectly! Try this!

This was the best falafel I've had, and I've eaten good falafel in Greek and Lebanese restaurants, of course anything you make homemade is going to be betther. I made my own greek pita breads to go with, and this meal was just to die for. Lay the lettuce on the plate, put the pita triangles around it and then the tomates and cukes on top, then the falafel, top with the sauce and a good shake of cheddar mm mmmmmmmmmmm good! Cut the salt in the lemon by half or more, that must be a typo, cause I had to cut the lemon sauce with sourcream, but still this was the best. And I don't agree with the other poster who had a beef about it not being authentic, in the show he says, "he' doesn't have the original recipe that this is close as he thoght it was." If you don't like it, poster, that's all the mroe for me. I lived near San Jose too, this falafel is better.

Switch "tablespoon" to "teaspoon" for the salt in the yogurt dipping sauce and you have a flawless recipe here. These falafels would rival Ali Babba's in NYC from back in the day.

This recipe is delicious! I have no idea what falafel is or what it's suppose to taste like, but this is GOOD! I'm not a big fan of lemon or cilantro, but I followed the recipe & must say it blends perfectly with the dish. I think there's a type-o error in the salt amount, however. Please do more 'veggie' recipes like this!

I grew up on Falafel, and eat it in many many variations, including the San Jose Drive-in (in my neighborhood, I also make a KILLA' falafel, and the recipe on this show is not falafel. Sorry : it is probably very delicious but it aint no falafel. Red pepers? onion? nuh.. way too much flour (its not bread
and they suppose to be are round and are called fallafel balls, not falafel footballs. :

I love your all shows! I automatically Tivo them all.. . keep it up! Thank you!!
