my 11 year old son (with the help of his dad made this as part of our Super Bowl Sunday menu. . . easy, wonderful and WILL NEVER go back to packets, like many of the reviewers below! Love you Guy!! We are planning a road trip for our summer vacation, and your book has been purchased as a guide to where we might go! :-

I make this regularly. It is one of my go-to recipes and everyone loves it! I chop the onions before I carmelize them because it is easier. Other than that I make it just like the recipe and it is a huge hit!

Great. A whole lot better than any store-bought dip, and a whole lot lower in salt. A lot of the store-bought dips are way too salty. This is especially good with a thick-cut kettle-style chip.

You will never buy a mix again. This is so easy and tastes fresh and delicicous. Paired with some Hawaiian style chips and a nice Alpha Omega Syrah and you have heaven!!

This dip was a hit at my company picnic. I made it the night before and the flavor was great the next day! I was worried there would be too much onion, but they really cooked down and were perfect - though I was missing the 2 shallots as my grocery store didn't have them this time.

I did make an adjustment and chopped the onion before cooking because I figured I might burn myself chopping afterward since I have no patience!

Made this yesterday for a party today. Delicious. Definately let it chill over night, flavors are much better 24 hours later. Used reduced fat mayo ond sour cream. Fabulous.

Loved this recipe. Made this for a party last night and it was devoured quickly. I was sad to see it go so soon, b/c I wanted to keep munching on it. The dip is so flavorful. Will make this dip again and again!!!
