This was a big hit at the pot luck I took it to. Everyone loved it and I got emails asking for the recipe days later.

I also used two roasted garlic bulbs and the bread was amazing. It's the only garlic bread we have now and everyone who eats it wants the recipe. I found that the recipe makes enough butter for two loaves which is great.

Easy substituted olive oil for 1 of the sticks of butter and a little more parmesan. Fabulous!

I love this recipe, although I've tweaked mine a bit to use less butter, more parm and instead of hot sauce I sprinkle a tiny bit of cayenne pepper on top before broiling. Also, because I'm a SF Bay Area gal, I always use sourdough bread for my garlic bread, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it with sourdough!

This was wonderful!!! We had friends over for dinner & everyone loved it. I'll never buy garlic bread again when I can make such a great recipe at home. Thanks Guy!

PS. I also roasted my garlic before adding to the butter...great idea that I used from someone else's post. Thanks for the idea!

The only change I made (besides leaving off the parsley because I didn't have any was to roast 2 whole bulbs-not cloves, BULBS- of garlic (chop off the top of the bulb, cover it with olive oil, wrap it in time foil and roast in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Just squeeze the bulbs into the softened butter and follow the recipe. Best garlic bread ever!

This recipe is a plethora of flavor. The bread was moist, crunchy and potent; just the way I love a perfect side to any spaghetti:

The best garlic bread I have ever tasted. It has the texture of Applebee's garlic bread, but with a super duper better taste.
