Mushroom gravy was awesome, I found myself scooping that on my mashed potatoes at thanksgiving and wishing I had made extra just for that.

This recipe is delicious! The first time I made this I only cooked the green beans for 2-3 minutes and now I cook them for about 4-5 minutes because it turns out better (in my opinion but the gravy is so amazing! This is perfect!

Extremely Tasty! My favorite holiday dish... My boyfriend & I made this last Thanksgiving and it was everyones favorite and since then, I've had multiple people ask me for the recipe!!! You've got to make this... just make enough, because you will want to eat it all yourself!! Enjoy & happy holidays!

If I could give this recipe 10 STARS I would; It was marvelous!!!!! This was the best Green Bean Casserole I have ever had! For years, I could not fathom why everyone raved about Green Bean Casserole, especially when made with canned soup and frozen green beans. Easy but not a taste sensation. My guests arrived while I was sauteeing the gourmet mushrooms and garlic, asking what smelled so good. The finished product did not disappoint! The only changes I made was to use the French Fried Onions out of the box (I bought the shallots, but since this was the last dish I made for Thanksgiving dinner, I did not have the energy to fry the shallots and added a dash of brandy before serving.
Guy, you are amazing as is this recipe you elevated to a repast fit for the most discriminating epicureans.

This recipe is TOTALLY FIVE STARS!! That being said, and because I can never ever follow a recipe entirely, I substituted fat-free greek yoghurt for half of the sour cream, and used half & half instead of whole cream, threw a hefty splash of dry sherry in with the mushrooms & allowed it to evaporate before starting the roux. Also I added 1/2 pound of artichoke hearts (per 1-1/2 lbs of green beans to the shrooms... and used Asiago instead of Parm. I made a double batch for a BBQ, and despite arriving after half the crowd had gone through the chow line, the entire pan disappeared, while the potato, rice, and pasta salads were only half eaten. Thank you Guy!
