Made this to the recipe and it had great flavor and heat. Definitely would make again!

This is off the hook. So freakin good...The tequila crema is now the only way I 'do' sour cream with mexican dishes. Yum, Yum and Yum. I use the chicken marinade all the time now for other mexican type recipes. The tequila really makes it so, so good. Get a good bottle, you won't be sorry!

This was one of the best soups I've made. Everything was spot on. I do have to say though to those that left out the tequilla, you definitely were missing out. The tequilla creme really added a whole extra level to the soup. This was great and not difficult to make at all. Oh, and the marinade for the chicken, as was said by another reviewer, will be used as a stand alone for when I grill some chicken without soup. All around an excellent soup!

I absolutely adored this soup! I followed the recipe to the "T" and couldn't have been more satisfied. My whole family enjoyed it, and it wasn't difficult. Perfect for a chilly night cuddled up on the couch! Love it!

I really enjoyed this soup & will be hanging onto this recipe. I made a few minor changes ... the chilli powder was a bit overwhelming, so I ended up doubling the fire roasted tomatoes & lime juice, & added 1/2 cup or so tequila -- I think I'll make it again that way next time, rather than just cutting back on the chilli powder. I made the chicken per the recipe, except that I used breasts & thighs, & let marinate overnight - delish. Also made the crema per the recipe. Not sure the avocado added much - could easily leave that out. Made the tortilla strips in my deep frier & they turned out great. Really yummy.

WOW! What a dish! I did change a few things though. I added only 6 C stock (we like our soups a little thick, didnt have fire roasted tomatoes so I roasted 1 1/2 tomatoes on the grill with the jalapeno and I cooked the chicken at the same time as well, I didn't use any alcohol, and I didn't serve with the tortilla strips (kind of pointless I know...lol The marinade for the chicken was AMAZING! We decided to use that marinade when we grill out now. The recipe wasn't as difficult as it looks. Pretty simple and not very time consuming. I also didn't sweat the jalapeno. I just grilled it until there were nice grill marks and then diced. If I could give this recipe 6 stars I would........Way to go Guy!!! :

Love the kick to the soup. It is definitely a keeper!

I tweaked it a litter - left out the tequila, used chicken breast and vegetarian stock. Made a lime crema instead of the tequila crema.

I have had a lot of Tortilla soups including some amazing ones in Mexico but I would have to put this up there with one of the best i have ever tasted and certainly the best I have cooked. I think the marinade and grilling the chicken is what makes puts this a level above most other Tortilla soups. I followed the recipe exactly, just didnt have the time to marinate it as long, so next time I know it will be even better!

This soup was great! I left out all of the tequila - added an extra lime to the marinade, and just used plain sour cream. Was still great! It seems like a lot of work, but really worth the effort.
