I only had a george forman grill so that is what I used. Since it cooks both sides, I just left the romaine on the grill about a minute. It was from our garden so very tender. It was great. Reminded me of wilted lettuce we use to fix long ago.I added warm hard boiled eggs and raddish. Thanks Guy! Another winner!!

I've made this several times and always get great reviews. I like to add chopped tomatoes as well.

Wonderful. Served it on Christmas with beef tenderloin and asparagus. Everyone raved about it. However, a word of caution when reducing the balsamic and olive oil: I think I may have had the heat too high, because it exploded. What a mess. Other than that, it was perfect.

I think it's awesome!! not that i could actually eat it though, but just the thought of grilled romaine and blue chesse dressing is mouth-watering! : I'll try out TMda Girl's version.

I decided to make this because I was looking for interesting new ways to do vegetables, and I would NEVER have thought to grill lettuce. The thought of doing that was weird enough that I had to give it a go. WOW! The slight char on the romaine makes it so flavourful, and the vinaigrette with bacon/onion and blue cheese finish it beautifully. My fiance, not a fan of blue cheese, absolutely loved it too. I served this as a side to chicken picatta, but the grilled romaine was absolutely the star of the meal!

I plan to try this out on my vegetarian parents, but with heavily sauteed and salted mushrooms rather than bacon.

This was super good and was a nice change from a chilled side salad. Beautiful presentation! I followed directions exactly except used Gorgonzola in place of the blue cheese. Will be making this again!

Wow! I LOVE the grilled romaine. If you want to shake it up a bit, try it with a little prosciutto instead of the bacon. It is ALL good. Thanks, Guy.
