Excellent combination of heat and sweet. I did not have fresh jalepenos so I used some home-made pickled jalapenos. Still perfect. I reserved some of the left over marinade to baste some grilled shrimp. It should be excellent on those as well. I cooked my Sockeye salmon at 17 minutes at 400 degrees on the plank with no parchment in a Miele speed oven (the best invention in the world. 17 minutes was almost perfect. 15 minutes may have been better. I also soaked the plank in water for a long time and then put it on the grill until it had a good smoke per the recipe. This is not a heavy recipe and goes well with green beans and carrots lightly cooked in a skillet. A Woodenhead Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley was the wine choice. Very nice.

Absolutely wonderful. Tried it for the first time on dinner guests as I knew it would be good.
Got rave reviews! Everyone loved it. Did not use the parchment paper as I have cooked directly on the planks before without any issues. This is my favorite salmon recipe and I cook salmon all the time. Love the marinade, I also think it would be good on a chicken breast or a pork tenderloin as well. Thanks Guy!!!

I read about 20 reviews before deciding this was the recipe for me. I agree that the jalapeno is strong when making the sauce but by the time it cooks on the fish, it is very mild. My 2 year old daughter loved the fish. My husband grilled a small piece of salmon for her without the sauce and she wasn't interested...she wanted mine and ate...and ate...and ate! This recipe is a major home run! We cooked our salmon on the plank on the grill. The extra sauce will be put to good use tomorrow with flank stank. Thanks for sharing your recipe Guy! Delicious!

We loved this recipe! Our guests loved it as well and asked for the recipe. I will definitely make it again. I reserved some sauce to put on the top after cooking, but I will not do that next time. Because the sauce is sweet I recommend doing as the recipe says and put it over the just fish before cooking. We cooked ours on the grill rather than the oven. If you buy salmon with skin on the bottom there is no need for parchment paper and cook skin side down. I forgot the lemon and thus did not put the lemon zest on top. It still tasted great. The rosemary added great flavor and is key to the flavor of the recipe, so don't skip the rosemary as it is one of the best parts.

This recipe rocked! I thought cedar plank was going to be hard to find but it wasn't. If you like spicy food like me I would suggest adding one more jalapeno to give it a little kick. Also i cooked mine for 2 minutes longer and it was perfect. This salmon is flavorful, easy, and a great alternative to your everyday salmon receipes.

We splurged on the salmon fillets and the cedar planks but it was well worth it! Great recipe! I went a little easy on the jalapeno only b/c of the kids...and they loved it as well. Thanks Guy!
