The flank steak was so salty we had to rinse it off! Be sure to go easy on the kosher salt. And the reduction took forever... he makes it look easy, but it's not.

Only thought I had on this was with the sauce it made the steak very sweet, though I noticed a lot of the peppercorns that were crusted on the steaks came off on the grill pan while we were cooking them. I think if there would have been more on the steaks after cooking, it would have been a great balance.

This is the best sauce EVER! I'm going to use it on many different things. The people that have complained about the amount of salt and pepper are making the mistake of measuring the seasonings exactly. Just eyeball it to your taste. Such a great meal.

This cabernet sauce is wonderful! Smooth wine flavor with just enough sweetness. After draining the onion and garlic I let it simmer and reduce another 10 minutes but I never got to the thick syrupy stage like Guy did on the show. Didn't matter though... Everyone loved it! We did not follow the steak recipe exactly but instead grilled a tri tip, untenderized, seasoned with "Montreal Steak Seasoning". Will make this again and again!

We didn't have time to marinate for 4 hours, but we asked the butcher to thin cut two NY steaks and they didn't need as much marinating. I wasn't sure what to do with the onions once I strained the sauce, so we just used it as a side dish. It was all great.

This was the first of many recipes that I made from Guys shows. I love his style of cooking---so easy! The sauce passed the test from my pickiest eater! The steak had so much flavor!! Dying to make this again!

this was a great recipe. I loved the potatoes and the Cabernet Balsamic Sauce. It really helped out the toughness of a flank steak.

I used shallots instead of the red onion as that is all I had. This was by far the most amazing sauce I have every had! And it was easy to make. Thanks Guy!
