I just woke up and saw Guy Fieri making a Loco Moco and asked where it originates from... Being a born & raised Hawaiian from the island of O`ahu, Loco Moco means crazy booger.. Technically an "original" Loco Moco consist of a bowl with rice, then the hamburger patty, an sunny side up egg and then covered with all gravy... When you break the egg, it's supposed to resemble a "crazy booger".. Now days, they make the eggs to your request (for people like me who do not like sunny side up eggs... Either way, it's a simple, DELICIOUS dish :

I spent 5 wks in Oahu` last November, went to Wright Bros Cafe @ Hickham when I first saw this on an actual menu. My husband has been eating this for years, I thought he was the only one. I'm going to add chix broth to rice & jazz up the gravy like yours. It's a great dish. I guess he wasn't making it up after all.
