my veggie patties came out bone dry. I followed the directions exactly and mashed the beans to help the burger stay formed. The burgers held together and had a great flavor. They were just dry. They definitely need mayo or ketchup, etc... for moisture. Regardless, I will still make these again because they taste just that good!

I had my father in law visiting for the first time and wanted to make some delicious meals...but also ones that we could all eat (since my husband and father in law eat meat and I'm a vegetarian.
Let me just say, I made these and we all loved them!
I did make a few changes though: I put the beans through the food processor to make a chunky bean puree. I also put all veggies in the food processor so everything was diced VERY fine. I also left out the jalapeno, celery salt, and oregano.
They were so awesome! And even better the next day!

So far this is my favorite veggie burger recipe. Really delicious! You have to like beans, though, to enjoy these! I have had some issues with them falling apart, but I think the longer you keep them in fridge after forming the patties, the better they stay together. Meat loving husband likes them too!

To the person who asked about grilling; I have grilled them a few times in the past on a charcoal grill and they held up pretty well. Just try to only flip them once. The less they are handled, the better.

Even though this recipe is time consuming in the preparation stage, it is very good. The only problem I ran into was that it didn?t hold together well; even though rolled oats and bread crumbs are added. Even still, it?s a good recipe, very tasty and filling.

I would love to put them on my grill, but fear them falling apart. Has anyone had success with grilling these burgers?

Excellent burger. Took the advice of other reviewers and doubled the recipe.
Did a little tweaking, and used duck eggs. We froze the extras for later, I don't think later will be too long.

This is the first time I have made a comment on a recipe,so, that in itself should tell you how much we have enjoyed this recipe! I am not a vegetarian, nor my husband, but in order to control his high cholestrol, my husband eats veggie burgers for his lunch. After reading about the dangers associated with soy, I decided I could make my own veggie burgers without all the junk in them that is in the processed veggie burgers. When I found this recipe and tried it ,I could'nt believe it could be so great! I didn"t have some of the ingredients, so, I improvised. Insead of oats I used bulgur wheat. I also used mushrooms (fresh instead of artichokes, and celery flakes instead of celery salt. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE! i have given it to several of my friends and they love it!

These take a bit of time to make so I doubled the recipe and froze the rest and they turned out great! Even my husband who is strictly a beef guy enjoyed them.

This was a great veggie burger! My husband has to have meat with every meal and he loved it. Us and our kids loved all the different flavors and the small amount of jalapeno was just enough heat. It was like a little pop of hot here and there, instead of overwhelming the whole recipe. Our family will definitaly be adding this to our recipe box.

I have tried all brands of veggie burgers in your freezer section! I decided to do this recipe while vacationing in Lake Tahoe while my other friends are meat eaters. It was soooo flavorful and delicious!
Only fault that I experienced: the patties were falling apart. Recommend to roughly mash all of the beans so it stays together while you cook it.
