This recipe was great. Yes it took longer than 5 minutes but was well worth it. The secret is to use fresh corn tortillas and warm a small batch at a time so they don't cool off. The tomatillo salas was great with a sweet flavor that was unexpected. I will definately make this one again.

The flavor was bland. The sweetness of the red pepper and red onion over powered the spices and jalapeno pepper. All I tasted was sweet. The outside was crispy and fun but the filling was not worth the work. Wondering why there was potato in this dish and maybe if that mellowed the flavors. Won't make these again, will stick with southwestern eggrolls from now on.

Ok, 5 minute cooking time, you've got to be kidding!! This recipe took me all day! I started around 12:30 making the guacamole and salsa recipes, then around 4:30 started making the chicken part. We ate at 7:30! Then I had such a problem with the corn tortillas cracking and falling apart that I gave up on the wrapping them and decided to make them chicken tacos! They were really good as tacos, but I had worked so hard to make them, that I was so tired that my husband had to shred the chicken! I just couldn't muster the energy to do it! Anyway, I think this recipe should be rated as intermediate or difficult! There is a lot of ingredients and chopping to do for all 3 of these recipes, the outcome is pretty good, but a lot more work that initially suggested! A video would be helpful on this recipe! I really don't get how the corn tortillas work with this recipe! Maybe a flour tortilla would work better, they are bigger and more workable. Just a thought...I don't think I will try this again!

I am a Northern California girl and I love Mexican food! I have eaten taquitos at many many places all over California and Mexico and have even made them at home using authentic family recipes...but I have to say that Guy's taquitos are the BEST that I have ever eaten. They have an incredible bold flavor from the tequila and the lime, and compared to other recipes, they are FAR less time-consuming since the chicken is boneless. But in my opinion, if you are crunched for time, you shouldn't be trying to make taquitos anyway....save them for special occasions. They are worth the effort. Definitely.
I don't know what other negative reviewers are talking about because this is an AMAZING recipe. I have made it twice and loved it both times; my friends and family keep asking me to make it for every get together! Make the filling ahead of time and then just roll & fry before you want to eat, and be sure to make extra and freeze them up before frying.
Cheers Guy! A great recipe and a great show.

If you are making less than 24 taquitos, don't microwave the corn torts for 2 minutes. The episode I saw on TV said microwave for 1 and 1/2 minutes. When I did that, my corn tortiilias burned, my kitchen towel almost caught fire, my microwave and kitchen where filled with smoke.
Maybe 24 corn torts works at 1 1/2 - 2 minutes but less does not.
20 seconds was perfect and the corn torts did not crack.

An okay taquito recipe but nothing to write home about, especially when home is Albuquerque.
Oh no, Rachael Ray better watch her back. She has some serious competition in the "stupidest possible recipe name" category.

We cook quite a bit and enjoy tex mex food the most. We were very excited about this recipe but unfortunately it is terrible. The tomatillo sauce was very watery and was overpowered by the hot sauce (we used Tobasco brand hot sauce. In any case, it would have been very watery. The guac: bland and the sour cream is unnecessary. If you want amazing guac, look elsewear - this guac had no texture. Unfortunately, these two recipes were very bad. Thanks anyway. PS - if you want to make amazing guac just use your favorite search engine and search for "rosa mexicana guacamole"

This is the best combo of sauces and meat I have made in a long time. The guacamole sauce and the tomatillo sauce were the perfect compliment! The rice was yummy and I layered the rice, lettuce, taquitos and sauces. My son and his buddies ate everything;and that was a lot! Guy is my new fav! I have always been a Bobby Fkay or Michael Chirarello fan, but this guy is fabulous!
