Loved the dip but was way to much for just me and the hubby. We will definately try this at our next gathering. Great recipe!

Oh and I forgot to add that I made it with 1 bag of shredded mozzarella and it was perfect. I also substituted the fresh basil for the dry basil which worked perfect also.

Guy, you are a genius! Made this dish for an appetizer for family and friends and they ranted and raved about how good it was! The fresh mozzarella slices made for a lot of cheese on top, so next time I would use grated instead but this is such a tasty recipe I can't wait to make it again! The sauce is good enough by itself to use on pasta or homemade pizza too! Thanks Guy!

I made this for a Superbowl party and it was a hit. Although, I didn't use peppers, shallots, or mushrooms just pepperoni(picky kids. I did use the fresh mozzarella cheese cut up, but I didn't think it was easy to pick up on our breadsticks and it melted a little "watery." I thought next time I would just use shredded mozzarella, but I read that others did and didn't have much luck. :/

Just made this for the first time for our Superbowl party last night and it was AMAZING!! I used Penzy's Tuscan Sunset spice in place of the dried and fresh spices and herbs. Can't wait to have an excuse to make it again!

Excellent! I made this without the red pepper, shrooms and shallot. I fried up the pepperoni first and used the oil to fry my onions for the pizza sauce. I shredded my fresh mozzarella and used some packaged as well but during the superbowl party, it was hard for guests to get the cheese apart. next time I will use a knife to slice out pre-portions before serving. Still, the dish was sooo good!
